Rev. Tyrena Davis

Tyrena Elise Davis was born in Steubenville, Ohio. She is the daughter of Mrs. Renee  Davis, Director of Music at Lane Metropolitan Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Cleveland, Ohio and Rev. Dr. and Mrs. Tyrone T. Davis. Her father currently serves as the General Secretary for the Board of Personnel Services of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Memphis, Tennessee.

Raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Rev. Davis  accepted Christ at  Lane Metropolitan C.M.E. Church under the late Rev. Anzo Montgomery, at  the tender age of 4 and immediately began to bless the congregation with her strong singing voice. She was active in the The Children's Choir, The Youth Choir, The Voices of Lane, The Christian Youth Fellowship, The Rossie T. Hollis and Mattie E. Coleman Missionary Circles and was  a Junior Stewardess.

For Rev. Davis, singing was a God given talent. At the early ages of 4, 7 and 12, she  was featured in concerts. She also sang at various District, Annual and National Christian Methodist Episcopal Church  Conferences.

In 1990,  she relocated to Washington, D.C. to pursue studies at Howard University where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Management.

She joined Israel Metropolitan C.M.E. Church in 1990, via Watch Care,  under Rev. Wardell Bonner. In 2002, under Rev. Wendell Oldham, she  formally moved her membership from Lane to Israel.  There, from 2003-2006, she served on the Steward Board.

In 2006, Rev. Davis  accepted The Call to Preach, and was ordained Deacon on July 23, 2009, during the New York-Washington Annual Conference in Wilmington, Delaware. Currently, under her Pastor, Rev. Dr. Ricky D. Helton, Rev. Davis  serves as Director of Music, is on The Ministerial Team, The Pastor's Aid Committee, and both the Prayer Hotline and UnderShepherd Ministries.

Professionally, Rev. Davis has served as a regional manager for several Washington D.C. area corporations. In the future, she plans to pursue a graduate degree in Christian Counseling.

Above all, she truly loves the Lord, and seeks to be obedient to His will.
