Rev. Yvette Henderson

Yvette Price Henderson was born in Washington, DC.  Mrs. Henderson was educated in the District of Columbia public school system, graduating in the top five percent of her senior class.  Mrs. Henderson holds three degrees, a Bachelor of Science from Drexel University in Electrical Engineering (1984), a Master of Science from Bowie State University in Computer Science (1996), and a Master of Divinity from Howard University School of Divinity (2007).

      Mrs. Henderson has worked in private industry as a software engineer for more than twenty-four years.  Presently, Mrs. Henderson is employed by Scientific Applications and International Corporation (SAIC) as a Principal Software Engineer.

      For the past fifteen years Mrs. Henderson has been a member of Israel Metropolitan Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) Church in the District of Columbia.  At Israel CME, prior to ordination, Mrs. Henderson has served on the dance ministry, sung in the choir, served as stewardess, Vacation Bible School director, and taught Sunday school.   In July 2003 Mrs. Henderson was ordained a Local Deacon, followed by an ordination to Local Elder in July 2005, and in July 2007 was elected a Traveling Elder within the CME Church.  As a minister, Mrs. Henderson has served as Children’s Minister for four years and currently serves as the Interdenominational Theological Center Coordinator for the Washington-Virginia District.

      Mrs. Henderson has been married to her husband Kevin for twenty-four years.  They presently reside in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.  They have two children: a daughter Rheana, age nineteen; and son Kevin Junior, age twenty-three.  Husband Kevin sings on the Praise Ministry and they both participate in the Couples Ministry at Israel CME Church.
